In our Saturday workshop we discussed the many difficulties encountered in helping others and some ways in which these difficulties could be anticipated and overcome. I think we may all be a bit better prepared to help others now.
I would like to follow up on this help series with a discussion of how we can help ourselves and pull in the right help from others when we need it.
Let me start by suggesting that if you are not getting the help you need, that you do not have a clean intention on what that help should be or could be.
Going back to an earlier discussion we had, if you have a clear intention on what you want, and no counter-intention, what you want will occur. That is so rare, we usually call that a miracle.
A miracle is simply intending something and having it happen as you intended it. When such an event occurs, you will notice that there is no effort involved. You simply intend it and it happens.
There are so many barriers to this happening that we should acquaint ourselves to the commonest ones and work out a solution for them. The barriers to you getting the help you need and deserve seem to all be spiritual so using SRT to handle these barriers would seem to be a no-brainer.
Let’s start with your personal barriers to getting help. Do you feel you do not deserve help? Do you feel that no one can provide the help that you need? Are you unworthy of help? Is it degrading to need help? Do you have experience with help that acted as a betrayal?
Recalling enough instances of being helped that did not turn out well can desensitize you so you are no longer stuck in these failed help scenarios. Recalling what you did that contributed to the failure of that help will free you from being stuck in those painful memories.
If you have no painful instances of this lifetime failed or refused help, take a look at the feelings that arise when you try to seek help from others. You may have beings who are stuck in engrammic instances of refused help, failed help or help that became betrayal.
We are going to discuss failures in the area of receiving help and what to do about them until you regain the ability to help yourself and to solicit help from others.
